Not All Fiberglass Pools Are Created Equal!

Based on more than 15 years in the swimming pool restoration industry, I can recommend only one fiberglass pool manufacturer unconditionally. The finest fiberglass pools manufactured in the United States are San Juan Pools. Refinishing will not be required (under normal conditions) for about 30 years.

On the other extreme are pools currently being imported from "south of the border". These pools will often require refinishing within 3 to 4 years after installation.

In between these two extremes are the balance of fiberglass pools available in the U.S. Typically, a reasonably cared for fiberglass pool will need new gelcoat after about 20 years.
